Flute shakuhachi player Reirin Nishimura

Reirin Nishimura was born in 1966, since his childhood he has been playing with shakuhachi – traditional Japanese flute. In 1998 he received recognition for his talent – he participated in Winter Olympic Games concert in Nagano; in 2000 received a grand award from the association “Renbo-kai”.

R. Nishimura is one of the founders of the Japanese music association. Together with its members he performed in Tianjin, Tokyo, Moscow and Sankt Petersburg.

Currently, the player resides in Nagoya and contributes to the promotion of the shakuhachi and the Japanese music traditions.

In “Baltica”, he will be accompanied by Tashiko Okamoto, who will play shamisen, Japanese guitar.
